Step Up in Crisis Team

Step Up in Crisis Distribution Map as of 6/5/2020

We have hit a new milestone: 300,000 PPE distributed so far! We have a lot more coming into our warehouse this week and we have a lot of more distribution work ahead of us.

The PPE situation isn't covered much on the media in recent days. However, the shortage remains dire in many parts of the country. From nursing homes in NYC, to African American communities in inner city Philly, to birthing centers in CO, to poorly equipped hospitals in the Indian Reservations - the calls for help from around the country are not at all subsiding.

You can help by asking those with urgent PPE needs to register on our website or contribute financially so we can donate to more places in need.

We also love to receive notes from people who have received PPE from us! This is from Dr. Maria Michael, a spiritual leader of the Navajo Nation. Indeed, Mitakuye Oyasin - we are all related.

Dear Ning,

We want to thank you so very much for the 8000 surgical masks that you sent to the relatives above. We cannot thank you enough for your graciousness and help in sending these non-re-usable surgical masks. This will help so many frontline workers, that there are no words to say thank you enough! Please thank your organization for us as well and thank you for answering the call that Emmanuel put out on facebook.

We send you many blessings,

Ahe’ehe (thank you-Dine’), Askwali(thank you- Hopi), Pilamaye(thank you- Lakota)

Many Blessings, Mitakuye Oyasin (We are All Related), Maria

Love it when our PPE recipients send us a picture! Thank you our frontline soldiers for all you do!

5/12/2020 - We have delivered more than 100,000 PPE!

Step Up in Crisis Team

We have delivered more than 100,000 PPE to healthcare and other essential workers! If they would help save but one life, all our work will be worth it. How much is a life worth?

We are still in the midst of it all and it's hard to see clearly how this is going to work out, but hopefully one day we will look back and feel good about what we did even though it may seem totally crazy right now.

5/8/2020 - Second Shipment is In!

Step Up in Crisis Team

Our second shipment of 200,000 surgical masks has arrived in our SF warehouse today. Needly to say, we are all beyond excited. Our distribution team is hard at work to distribute them to frontline organizations in need. A big shoutout to our partner organizations Assist International and PPE Now NYC for providing warehousing and distribution support! Without them, we would not be where we are. This is truly a team effort!

5/4/2020 - PPE Distribution Map

Step Up in Crisis Team

We have started to distribute PPE to healthcare organizations in need, from hard hit hospitals in Nevada's Indian Reservation to cash strapped University hospitals in New Jersey. A high school student created a distribution map for our PPE and it's now on our website to keep you informed of the destinations of our PPE.

4/29/2020 - First Shipment IS in!

Step Up in Crisis Team

Our first shipment cleared LAX on Wednesday and it's now in the CA warehouse! Many, many people have worked very hard in the past few weeks to make this happen. We are all beyond excited!

Here are some photos of the beautiful shipment - we got 50,000 surgical masks and 8,000 isolation shoe covers in these boxes.

We have now officially entered the second phase of the operation: distribution.

We're expecting a few more shipments to follow - one is ready to fly out of Beijing Airport, another is ready to leave Tianjin Port on an ocean freight. Air freight is extremely expensive right now so we try to save some money.

At the same time, we continue to fundraise so we can procure more PPE through channels we have painstakingly established.
